The Brook Arts Center announces Sunday Movie Classics. Bringing to our stage classic movies, the way they were meant to be seen - on the BIG Screen. Join us starting in March for great classic films at the Historic Brook Theater!
All Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at www.brookarts.org or at the door. Featuring Mary Poppins (1964) starring Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, and David Tomlinson on March 10 at 2 pm.
When Jane and Michael, the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins. Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert, the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny's sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents.
Featuring Casablanca (1942) starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid on March 24 @ 2 pm. The story of Rick Blaine, a cynical world-weary expatriate who runs a nightclub in Casablanca, Morocco during the early stages of WWII. Despite the pressure he constantly receives from the local authorities, Rick's cafe has become a kind of haven for refugees seeking to obtain illicit letters that will help them escape to America. But when Ilsa, a former lover of Rick's, and her husband, show up to his cafe one day, Rick faces a tough challenge which will bring up unforeseen complications, heartbreak and ultimately an excruciating decision to make.
