Description
The Brook Arts Center ( Historical Brook Theater ) brings back the classic Beatles films A Hard Day’s Night and Help! on March 23, 2019, @ 7 pm. Fifty-five years ago, John, Paul, George, and Ringo brought their groundbreaking talent to the big screen and influenced a generation and changed music forever.
A Hard Day’s Night, released in 1964, at the height of Beatlemania, follows a day in the life of The Beatles. The film opens with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr being chased by a massive crowd of screaming women through Liverpool onto a London-bound train. This musical comedy features iconic pop anthems, “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “I Should Have Known Better,” “If I Fell,” and “A Hard Day’s Night.” The film which became one of the most wildly entertaining movies of all time continues to entertain generations of Beatles fans!
Help! , the second Beatles feature film is a comedy adventure, which follows the exploits of the group as they attempt to escape the clutches of an evil mysterious cult. The film features the classic tracks, “Ticket to Ride”, “You're Going to Lose That Girl”, and the title track, “Help!” This film has been regarded by many as a parody of contemporary Bond films.
Both films were directed by Dick Lester and combine the Beatles music talent and the group’s madcap sense of humor and comedic antics. The films have also been credited as being the forerunner to contemporary rock musicals and pop videos.
Join us for an evening of Beatlemania. Scream, shout and sing along with the Beatles! Come dress as your favorite Beatle to win tickets to our upcoming movie events!
